About Us
Bolsover Drama Group is one of Derbyshire's largest amateur drama groups. Formed
in 1981, the group has been running for over 25 years and stages four productions
a year.
Bolsover Drama Group's youth section was formed in late 1996, catering for the group's
members aged between 8 and 16. The first production performed was the musical 'Big
Al', which was followed by numerous other productions , usually one a year, including
'Half a Sixpence', 'Bugsy Malone' and 'The Wizard of Oz'. A full list of past productions
can be found here.
The youth section helps its members develop acting, dancing, singing and technical
skills, and many of its past members have gone on to study drama at university and/or
gone on to perform in productions for the main group.
The members of Bolsover Drama Group youth section are currently using their talents
to promote awareness of climate change to people within the local area as part of
the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA)'s Climate Challenge.
Details of this can be found in the
climate change section of this website.
