A musical performed Tuesday 9th to Saturday 13th October 2007

Set in the early years of the twentieth century, ‘Oklahoma’ tells of the high spirited rivalry between the ranchers and the farmers in their claims for land in this former Indian territory.

The show first opened in 1943 and has proved to be one of the most popular of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musicals.

The teritory became a state in 1907 – their centenary co-inciding with Bolsover Drama Group’s production of the show, which was commented on in a letter from the Governor of Oklahoma.
