About Us

Bolsover Drama Group is an community amateur dramatics group based in Bolsover, north Derbyshire. The group was formed in 1981 and has flourished into one of Derbyshire’s largest amateur dramatics groups, consisting of an adult and a youth section.

In an average year we perform four productions – a musical, a pantomime, a play and a youth section musical – plus two showcase evenings, giving members the opportunity to acquire new skills and develop existing ones.

We provide active workshops, job shadowing / sharing and opportunities for all aspects of drama allowing the transfer of skills in areas such as performing, writing plays, dancing, backstage work, set construction, directing and producing.

We also take part in a number of social and fundraising events throughout the year.

Whether we have lead roles or chorus, whether we are backstage, onstage or front of house there is a lot of fun in amateur dramatics! Whatever role we take, our members are willing to give up time and energy to produce entertainment of a very high standard for the Bolsover community.
