Who are Bolsover Drama Group?
We are a community amateur dramatic group based in Bolsover. We have been flourishing since 1981 and we now have a membership of 45 adults and a youth section (ages 9 – 18) of 40.
What does Bolsover Drama Group do?
We perform a pantomime, play, musical and a youth musical each year. In addition to performances we entertain local groups and societies giving members the opportunity to acquire new skills and develop existing ones. We provide active workshops, job shadowing / sharing and opportunities for all aspects of drama allowing the transfer of skills in areas such as performing, writing plays, dancing, backstage work, set construction, directing and producing.
Why is Bolsover Drama Group?
Well basically, because we enjoy our hobby! Whether we have lead roles or chorus, whether we are backstage, onstage or front of house there is a lot of fun in amateur dramatics! Whatever role we take, our members are willing to give up time and energy to produce entertainment of a very high standard for the Bolsover community. We also have a flourishing social side including theatre trips, short break holidays, race nights and dinners.

We rehearse on Tuesdays and Thursdays for adults 7.30 – 9.30pm and youth on Tuesdays 7.00 – 9.00.
